WALKING IN THE PATH OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

As we celebrate Pentecost day, we receive the Spirit of God. This Spirit recreates us and reveals to us God’s mission of inspiring us to work with the materials he provides to bring forth newness, goodness wherever we are, and nurture the world. Jesus breathed on the disciples and said “receive the Holy Spirit.” When the Spirit fills our life, we are transformed little by little and helped to reach a deeper level of communicating with God.  It is a daily gift that God bestows on us allowing us to collaborate with Christ in God’s plan of participating in nurturing one another. This is a mission that we are invited to do every day through our daily activities, expressing God’s creativity, sustains God’s creation, and cooperates with God’s redemptive power.

To be filled with the Holy Spirit helps us to be dynamic in all that we do.  The Spirit invites us to fall in love with the Trinity in order to find purpose in our lives. He reminds us of the word of God and to testify who Jesus is walking in the path of the Holy Spirit. We have received the gifts of the Holy Spirit: Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Knowledge, Piety, and Fear of the Lord.  Let us open our hearts to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. Those who belong to God according to St. Paul will be seen by their fruits which are: Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Generosity, Faithfulness, Gentleness, Chastity and Self-control. When these are reflected in our lives, then we are walking in the path of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit reminds us of the presence of God and unites us to God the Father and the God Son.

Let us desire be to listen to his promptings for he dwells within us. To be filled by the Spirit is to be submissive to the will of God. Come Holy Spirit and renew our hearts and the face of the earth.

  3. To be walking in the Path of the Holy Spirit is a special gift of God to me. One has to be open to the Spirit of Jesus poured in ones heart. On Pentecost Sunday, May 21st ,1972 Dairne MacHenry ,RSCJ and I made our Vows at Nkozi. Tomorrow May 23th,2021 will be Pentecost Sunday. It will be our 49th Anniversary Day of Definitive Vows for Sr.Dairne McHenry and I, Rose Banura, RSCJ, as for my 1st Vows. Sr. Helen McLaughlin ,RSCJ, was the then Provincial Superior of UGKP . I want to praise and Thank my God for Sr. Helen’s love and guidance of the two of us, through the Holy Spirit of Jesus, the Lord that discerned our Vocation.
