First Sunday of Advent

ADVENT REFLECTION

A voice cries out in the Wilderness Make Straight the way of the Lord. Jh1:25

Advent is a time of Hope, because the Light of the world has come to take aware all darkness.
May His Coming penetrate our hearts so that all are one and joy be fulfilled.

JOURNEYING TO THE CENTRE

Most people look at Advent as a time for physical preparation for the coming of a great feast. A time to renew my wardrobe, time for making some saving in the anticipation of the great day. A time of rejoicing as we wait to celebrate Christmas. We may even forget the Gist that makes the season so special and important.

The Saviour of the world has come. The King of the Universe, Let us now turn to him, get our whole self ready for His coming so that He may find us ready to receive Him.

“John the Baptist talked of Him as the one whom he can’t Undo the strap of His sandals” Mighty is He who comes, in the name of the Lord. King of glory, The King of Peace…” This is why we prepare our hearts so that The Lord may find room to dwell in us, a place to stay. The Prince of Peace. The peace of my heart.

WHATS IS ADVENT FOR US?

A TIME OF EXPECTATION
A SEASON OF PREPATION
A JOURNEY OF HOPE,
PEACE, JOY AND LOVE

BECAUSE THE
SAVIOR OF THE
WORLD HAS COME.

Emmanuel
“God with “us”
He is here already with us;
in the sacraments
The Eucharist,
Penance and in Word.

 By finding time to reflect
on His Word we get
amerced with grace.

For His body is real food and his blood real life and the who eats will have life eternal. He in us and we in Him. Jh.6:53ff

ADVENT A TIME OF TRUE JOY

Because the giver of that joy is in our midst, True joy is the fullness of life, which goes beyond what we see, or feel. It is being able to experience the Joy that Christ Jesus gives “I have come so that they may have life to the fullness”
Jh. 1:14ff.

And in another place Jesus said to the disciples, “He who abides in me will find real Joy”
Jh.15:11ff.

Therefore, when we are at peace, we gain hope and real joy is felt.
The coming of our Savior assures us of these gifts because God lives in Him, and Him in Us
I wish each one us grace filled moment
