St. Charles Lwanga Health Centre is a health facility based in Kenya, Kakamega County, Cheklalini Ward, run by the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The Health Centre’s is; providing holistic, quality, accessible, acceptable and affordable health services to those whom we serve. This we do through paying special attention to the needy, marginalized and vulnerable members of the society. Our services include outpatient, inpatient, laboratory, pharmacy, maternal, maternity, child welfare, comprehensive care and ambulance.
The Centre is currently working in partnership with Pharm Access, a Non-governmental Organization working with health care institutions on quality improvement using safe care standards. This year, St. Charles Lwanga Health Centre was awarded as the most improved faith based health care facility in Kakamega County during an awarding ceremony at Golf Hotel Kakamega, which was graced by her Excellency, the first lady of Kakamega County, Mrs. Pricilla Oparanya.
Chekalini Community would like to express gratitude to all our benefactors, especially Sr. Irene Cullen, the USA Mission Support Office, RSCJ Mother House Solidarity Fund, Uganda Kenya Provincial and the Council, Sr. Margaret Mwarili (former administrator, St. Charles Lwanga Health Centre) and the Health Centre’s fraternity for the coordinated effort towards achieving this award.
We continue to glorify the most Sacred Heart of Jesus in our mission of reaching out to the needy in the society, in discovering and manifesting the love of Jesus in our lives and in those whom we serve.
